The mirror was round and green so it wasn\u2019t just about what Jordyn saw on the inside of mirror but what she saw on the outside as well. Our new student Londen took part by taking the circle mirror and she stared at her face then said \u201c mommy\u201d and gave the mirror a kiss. \nToday in the Spruce Classroom we continued to conduct our Science experiment involving water. Our water Science experiment we all did involved wax paper, a small cup of water and an eyedropper. I placed the wax paper flat on the table and allowed a few children to squeeze a drop of the water onto the wax paper using the eyedropper. The children watched with astonishment, as the droplet of water moved all over the wax paper without soaking the paper. It always makes me smile to hear the children's thoughts and reaction about the science experiment. Each child reactions was different, they create their very own theories on why the droplet of water moves across the wax paper. When I asked the children what they thought, Vaedyn yelled out "Look Ms.Adrian, the drop of water is dancing". I found his comment adorable and enlightening. His comment informed me that he is indeed learning! Vaedyn compared a droplet of water moving all over the wax paper to dancing, and to me that is simply amazing that a 3 year old understands the idea of comparison. Implementing Science in the classroom is a marvelous idea, it keeps our children minds sharp and always wondering.

\nGood Morning Explorers,
\nIn the Preschool (3's) classroom we brought the children to the playground. I had everyone spread out. I asked them \u201cwhat did they feel touching their faces\u201d? I asked the children \u201cwhat did they think was moving their hair\u201d? Vaedyn answered "the wind". He said the wind is blowing and moving everything. I then held up a plastic bag and explained to the children that we would catch the wind and trap it in the bag. First, I asked the children to squeeze the bag and ball it up really tight. I explained to them that the reason why they were able to squeeze the bag was because there was no air in the bag. Then I took my bag and dragged it across the air back and forth, demonstrating that this is how we catch the air. I closed the end of the bag quickly. Now I asked the children to give it a try. Not all were able to do it. Randall kept swinging his bag back and forth but he just could not trap the air. Shekinah said "Michelle, I did it". Vaedyn said "kool! I got all the air". Khloe said, "I can't do it". Faith said "I got it Ms. Michelle". Once we had the air trapped inside the bag I asked the children to try and squeeze the bag. Jamya said, "I can't, it's a ball". Vaedyn said, "the air's inside". Chase said, "Yeah\u201d!
\n
\nThe next day our class went on a neighborhood walk. While we were walking the children were identifying the wind when they saw that it was blowing different things. Shekinah said "Look the wind is blowing Emily's hair". Kamryn said "the wind is blowing the trees". Vaedyn said "the wind blows the people". Elijah said "the wind is blowing my face". Randall said "I don't see the wind". I explained to Randall that we cannot see the wind but we can feel the wind and see all the things that the wind blows. He said "Ok".
\nI noticed at lunch time the boys were sitting at the table blowing their cups across the table. I stood back and laughed to myself as they recognized that they can make that cup move by blowing air out of their mouth (like the wind).

\nIf you have answered "blue and yellow" you are correct.
\nThis has been our focus in the Spruce-three year old classroom this past week.
\n
\nOn Monday the children mixed the colors blue and yellow to create the color green. We did this using paint.
\nOn Tuesday I set up my centers. In the Science Center I sprayed some shaving cream on the table. Then I squeezed a drop of yellow food color and a drop of blue food color. I allowed the children to mix it around using their hands. They loved it and was amazed at how once again we created the color "green".
\nToday (Wednesday) I placed four large plastic containers on the table in front of the children filled half way with water. In the first container I squeezed a drop of blue food color. In the second container I squeezed a drop of yellow food color. in the third I squeezed a drop of green.
\nI passed the containers around allowing each child to have a turn shaking it up. We then placed the containers on the table. I explained how in each container with one drop of one color this is how it would mix. I then took the fourth container which only had clear water in it and I let one of the children squeeze in a drop of blue. Then another child squeezed in a drop of yellow. We passed the container around, shaking it up.
\nOnce we placed the container down the children could not believe their eyes. They yelled "green". "We did it" They were amazed once again.
\nTomorrow we are going to mix blue and yellow play dough.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":true},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
